Haven Hall-Baxter
Founder & Executive Director
Uniquely Me Youth Mental Health Initiative, a community-based nonprofit created from lived experience and deep concern for youth who are often unseen, unheard, or misunderstood.
With a background in social work, ministry, and youth advocacy, Haven leads with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach that centers trust, representation, and youth voice.
Uniquely Me was born from the belief that meaningful mental health support starts with connection, consistency, and meeting young people exactly where they are, not where systems expect them to be.
Carmisha Ward
Community Advocate & Outreach Coordinator
Builds relationships with families, schools, and community partners to expand access to youth mental health resources. This role strengthens community connections, promotes awareness, and ensures young people feel supported both inside and outside Uniquely Me spaces.
Maurice Baxter
Youth Engagement Specialist
Works directly with youth to foster connection, trust, and open dialogue around mental health through group facilitation, activities, and supportive engagement.
Who We Are
Our History
Uniquely Me| Youth Mental Health Initiative was founded in 2022 under the original name Don't Be Silent. It began with a Haven searching for meaningful mental health support for her children, both of whom navigate mental health challenges
including ADHD and ODD.
During that journey, it became clear how limited and difficult it was to find programs that truly supported youth and families in a safe, understanding, and nonjudgmental way. What started as a personal need grew into a community-focused mission.
As the vision expanded, Don't Be Silent evolved into Uniquely Me, a name that reflects the belief that every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported as their authentic self. Today, Uniquely Me creates spaces where youth and families can talk openly about mental health, build connections, and feel less alone.
